Finding movies that match your personal taste is never an easy task, especially considering the large collections of films that are available these days. Discovr Movies is a stylish Mac application that creates interactive maps with similar movies in order to help you decide what to watch next.

The Discovr Movies user interface is extremely straightforward: the top toolbar is reserved for the basic browsing tools (go back or forward and search), the main area displays the movies map, while the bottom bar hosts your favorites list, a catalog with the recent releases and the editorial picks.

What’s more, from the top right corner you can choose to share the current map by email or on your social media accounts (Facebook and Twitter are currently supported): the app will automatically include the image in your post or place it in your clipboard (if you want to use the email function).

To get started you must provide at least one movie name: Discovr Movies will automatically create a new map and display similar movies that you might enjoy watching. If you click on a certain title, the map will expand to include the movies related to the second movie and so on.

However, if you double click on the movie title, Discovr Movies opens the picture’s profile page where you can view the official trailer, teasers, interviews, general info about the film, a small synopsis, the cast list, read reviews and much more.

You can right click on the movie title and access its contextual menu: this way you will be able to add the current film to your favorites list.

Discovr Movies delivers a stylish and intuitive solution for quickly browsing a collection of popular movies in order to find one that you haven’t seen yet but you will probably enjoy watching.
