Binaural Beat Generator For Mac

Binaural Beat Generator is a free and easy to use binaural beat generator made using SonicBirth 1.3.0. Binaural Beat Generator is available both as an AU and VST plugin.

When you play the Binaural Beat Generator there are actually 2 signals being generated -  a left signal and a right signal. They are both sine waves but the Binaural Gap represents a difference in frequency between the two waves.

Binaural Beat Generator works by adding the frequency of the Binaural Gap to the right sine wave. For example, if you play an A4 (440Hz) and the Binaural Gap is 5Hz, the left sine wave will be 440Hz and the right sine wave will be 445Hz.

The brain perceives this as a pulsing sound at a number of times a second equal to the Binaural Gap (in the example above there will be 5 pulses each second). These pulses are supposed to have an effect on the brain when listened to through Stereo headphones.

The chart at the bottom of the plugin relates the Binaural Gaps to their corresponding brainwave frequencies (delta, theta, alpha, beta) and their effects. You will notice that when the gap is 0 a normal sine wave is produced as both the left and right sine waves are of the same frequency.
