SoundSoap is a straightforward application that improves the quality of your audio files by reducing the tape hiss, and removing audio squeaks, clicks, crackles, buzzes, hums, rumbles, and other types of undesirable noises.

Finding your way around the application is very easy since the workspace is made out of two different windows: one that contains the audio processing tools, and a Media Player that enables you to playback the files.

The controls included in the first window help users to fix clippings, clicks and crackles, hums, to boost the volume, to reduce or tune the noise.

Via the SoundSoap’s Media Player window you can load files that need to be scanned and cleaned of unwanted noises: simply drag and drop the files over the specified window and click the button with a dot on it in order to turn on the SoundSoap’s Noise Reduction feature.

One of the best, if not the very best SoundSoap feature, is the “Lean Noise” function: it enables you to effortlessly reduce the noise from an audio file with just a mouse click and without having to manually control the Noise Tuner or other advanced tools.

If you are not satisfied with the performance of SoundSoap’s automatic noise removal feature, the “Noise Only” tool enables you to listen only to the noise and fine-tune the audio by using the manual controls.

Noteworthy is that SoundSoap enables you to reduce unwanted noise outside the range of the human voice with the help of the “Preserve voice” feature, thus ensuring that the speaker’s or singer’s voice quality will not be affected.

SoundSoap is compatible with most QuickTime and Windows Media compatible audio or video file formats such as: AVI, DV, .WAV, SDII, AIFF, MP3, MP4 and others.
