A reliable and easy-to-use Mac OS X music instrument tuner that provides support for 11 different stringed instruments and 10 pitch modes
The application is highly intuitive and easy-to-use thanks to the well-rounded user interface. From the left side, you can choose an instrument: guitar, violin, mandolin, bass guitar, viola, balalaika, ukulele, cello, dombra, banjo and double bass.
Furthermore, on the right side of the main window, you can play notes produced by the instrument (for instance G3, D4, A4 and E5 for the guitar). In addition, an image of the instrument plus a suggestive background picture are displayed.
As you might expect, tuning instruments using 11Tuners is a simple procedure. Just play the note and try to reproduce the sound on your physical instrument. An option to repeat the sound when you play it might also come in handy.
Another important feature is the ability to change the pitch. Various pitches are available in the drop-down menu at the top of the list of instruments. For instance, you can change it to Baroque Pitch, France 1859 Pitch, Concert Pitch and so forth. As an added bonus, you can even open Wikipedia links for each instrument.
Taking everything into consideration, 11Tuners is a reliable OS X solution that helps you tune stringed instruments by listening to various notes. It can auto-repeat the notes and even offers a good number of different pitches.
