Developed to provide support to users that want to edit the content of their disks on a binary level, iBored provides very useful functionalities for retrieving data from damaged disks, but can also generate serious problems if not used properly.

iBored is able to scan the disk connected to your Mac, or available on the network, can identify the volume type, and enables you to visualize their content as binary data. Keeping disk backups is highly recommended since overwriting certain disk blocks can make the entire disk unusable.

For each detected volume you can choose to view its content in binary form, you can visualize the disk structure / blocks / partitions, you get to copy or erase blocks, you have the option to write files to blocks and so on.

When dealing with a disk that presents read errors, iBored is capable to copy the entire volume while replacing the bad blocks with zero. This way, you will be able to employ recovery tools on the disk image that does not included the errors.

IBored is able to access Mac disks that cannot be removed (administrative rights are required), can process iPod disks, and allows you to save specific disk blocks to your drive.
