Netflix has just updated their iOS applications for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch with subscription support via the in-app purchases feature.

From now on, Netflix users who also own an iOS device will no longer have to use the website or their Apple TV to subscribe for unlimited streaming because they can do it right within the Netflix iOS app.

According to Variety, the on-demand media streaming company has added the unlimited streaming option as an in-app purchase option for iOS users who want to use it on one, two or four different devices, with prices starting at $7.99 for one, and for $8.99 and $11.99 for the two and four screens options, respectively.

The addition of in-app purchase-based subscriptions for iOS devices has also been announced on the Netflix US Twitter account with the help of two main characters from the “Orange Is the New Black” TV show.

This move comes as no surprise, given that both HBO and Hulu allow their users to subscribe via their respective iOS apps, with the help of an Apple ID.

Moreover, having given in and allowed iOS users to subscribe using Apple's in-app purchases system that gives them a 30% cut of any subscription, Netflix makes it clear that a vast majority of users prefer to access video content using their tablets or smartphones instead of a desktop computer or a TV set.

Netflix for iOS can be installed on any iPhone, iPad or iPod touch that runs at least iOS 7.0 or later.

Additionally, you can download Netflix for iOS via Apple's App Store, or update it via the App Store app on your iOS device, from the Updates tab by tapping on the "Update" button next to the Netflix app.
