Apple’s status page shows everything is working well

It appears that Apple is not having the most awesome day today. The iTunes Store is no longer functioning as expected, while Cupertino’s app submission service iTunes Connect is also down.

The App Store and Mac App Store also seem to be suffering outages, but at least the front pages of the two stores are still accessible.

As for iTunes, users have been reporting not being able to log into iTunes since this morning in several locations across the world, including Australia, Brazil, Bolivia, Bulgaria, Poland, Serbia, South Africa, Cyprus, Canada, Switzerland, Spain, Sweden, Saudi Arabia, France, Finland, India, Italy, Indonesia, the Philippines, Romania, Ukraine, the Caribbean, Portugal, Russia, Egypt, Slovakia, Singapore, Vietnam, Israel, Iceland, the Netherlands, Norway, Denmark, Japan, Hong Kong, Germany, Greece, New Zealand, Kenya, Thailand, the UK and US. It doesn't seem to matter whether you’re on your iPad, iPhone, Mac or MacBook, as the iTunes Store keeps asking for the log-in credentials.

For those users who remained logged in, performing pretty much any operation has been rendered impossible.

Interestingly enough, Apple’s status page shows that everything is working dandy, but that clearly isn't the case given how many people are complaining right now.

We currently don’t know what’s going on or how long it will take for the iTunes store to start working again, but keep checking back with us to learn of any further developments.

We’ll be updating you on the matter as soon as we have more details. Hopefully, Apple is aware of the issues and is trying to do something about it.

UPDATE: Apple has updated its status page, but to our surprise, iTunes is still shown as working like it should.

UPDATE 2: It appears that iTunes is back up and working for select users, although it's still pretty glitchy. Not everybody is seeing this development yet, but at least in some parts of the world things are starting to get back on track.

UPDATE 3: The service seems to be on and off. Apple finally updates the status page to show that iTunes Store, Mac App Store, iBooks Store and App Store are currently not fully functional.
