Antonio De Rosa creates unique, semi-tapered design, three different finishes

We couldn’t let the day pass without showing you the latest iPhone 6 mockups making the rounds on Twitter and, soon enough, the entire Apple blogosphere.

This latest concept comes from the creator of some of the first iWatch concepts, Antonio De Rosa, a talented Italian designer with a visible affinity for Apple’s product line, especially those that start with the letter “i.”

De Rosa just hit me up with this cool gallery featuring the “iPhone L,” (where L stands for large, I’m guessing). He offers a view at three different iPhone L models, all sporting a cool, semi-tapered design. The phone would come pre-installed with iOS 8, Apple’s upcoming mobile OS.

The sneaky De Rosa even squeezed in a Socialmatic app on that fake iOS 8 Home screen, in an attempt to raise awareness about the project he helped lift off the ground with his design skills.

Antonio’s iPhone L mockups are the first iPhone 6 concepts that do away with the old iPod touch direction that many designers have used as inspiration. I’m glad to see new ideas are taking off. What do you guys think?

Update: article amended to correct a reference to the design studio behind the iPhone L concept. The mockups are made by Antonio De Rosa (ADR Studio), not Federico Ciccarese.
