Apple manages to speed up shipping time by two days

The latest checks with Apple’s supply chain suggest that the company continues to struggle to build enough devices in order to satisfy demand, but according to the listings at store.apple.com, things are finally turning around.

Whether or not Piper Jaffray’s estimates are accurate, Apple confidently claims that it is now able to ship a brand new iPhone 6 to any buyer (in the United States and other key markets) in 1-3 business days. The previous estimate was 3-5 work days, which means the company has managed to reduce customer anticipation by 48 hours.

Here’s a little heads up before you get all excited. That quota can go back up to five days, or even more, as Christmas approaches. And if you’re looking to secure a high-end 128GB model, be prepared to wait for as much as ten business days. Apparently, those are the models that take the most time to build, for one reason or another. In any case, you won’t be able to order one and have it arrive in time for Christmas.

The time frames cited above apply to all models, including iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, and all the color options they ship in (Gold, Silver, and Space Gray).
