Google has released its annual trending searches along with an inspiring YouTube video and some nifty graphics depicting this year’s key moments, including the World Cup, Ebola, the death of Robin Williams, flight MH370, the Rosetta mission that saw humanity land a man-made object on a flying comet, and everything in between.

In the technology sector, Google revealed the top Consumer Electronics searches for 2014, putting Apple’s craved-for iPhone 6 at the top of that list, followed by the Samsung Galaxy S5, the Nexus 6, the Moto G, the Samsung Note 4, the LG G3, Microsoft’s Xbox One console, the Apple Watch (on the 8th position), the Nokia X on # 9, and finally the iPad Air on position no. 10.

iPad Air is actually at its second iteration this year, but the device didn’t come out until later in the year, so it’s understandable why people didn’t hit that extra character during their searches.

As for the iPhone topping the Consumer Electronics chart, it’s something we’ve become all too accustomed with.
