Microsoft has released the list of this year’s most popular web searches carried out using its Bing engine, listing the iPhone 6 as leader of the pack, followed by one of its own products, the Xbox One.

2014 has been a fruitful year for technology fanatics, seeing powerful new devices like PlayStation 4, iPhone 6, and Xbox One win over the hearts of geeks, fanboys, and regular consumers alike.

According to Microsoft’s estimates for 2014, iPhone 6 was the most searched for item using its Bing engine, followed by Xbox One, Fitbit, iPad (another win for Apple), Surface Pro 3, Kindle Fire, Windows Phone, Galaxy S4, Chromecast, and Google Glass.

Ask Google and they’ll probably put the iPhone 6 on about the same position as Bing did. Blame it on the iSheep, the #bendgate fiasco, or anything in between. iPhone is, and always will be, one of the most popular searches once every two years – especially when Apple launches an all-new model.

In fact, word on the web is that the iPhone 7 is coming one year early. It’s just a feeble rumor for now, but wait for metastasis to kick in and you’ll soon know what 2015’s most searched for term will be.
