Customers report that Apple’s latest iPhone has a Windows-specific issue

The Blue Screen of Death is no longer a Windows-specific error, as some iPhone owners have discovered. iWork apps seem to trigger a reboot associated with a blue screen, indicating that Apple has yet another bug to patch in iOS 7.0.3.

The issue is confirmed on Apple’s forums, with at least three threads open to discuss the blue-screen reboot problem.

It appears the flaw is software-bound (not related to the phone’s hardware), since it can be intentionally triggered by using iWork apps, as demonstrated in the clip embedded above.

Apple now has another checkbox to tick on the list of priorities for iOS 7.0.3, an upcoming software update known to be in development.

Here’s one aspect of this bug that seems to have flown under everyone’s radar. It’s not just a funny, ironic poke at Apple’s software. It’s also a security flaw. iOS 7 is supposed to require authentication for shutdown.
