A Taiwan-based distributor of consumer electronics called Synnex Technology International is about to kick off sales of Apple’s iPhone, according to a Chinese newspaper.

Chinese-language newspaper Commercial Times reports (via DigiTimes), that “Synnex Technology International, a Taiwan-based IT and consumer electronic products distributor, has obtained an iPhone sales agent right for the China market.”

In other words, China has yet one more channel for distributing iPhones to end customers, amid Apple’s struggles to get big operators in the country to carry the phone.

In less than a month from now Apple will be unveiling new iPhone models, one of which will be priced lower than regular (the iPhone 5C), signaling another attempt to open the handset to the broadest of audiences.

The iPhone 5S, the successor to the current-selling iPhone, is likely to be priced higher and will reportedly sport a fingerprint sensor underneath its Home button, as well as a dual-LED flash for the camera module.
