Apple customers are signaling a two-week shipping estimate on Apple’s online store for iPhone 5 orders in Canada and the United States. The delivery status previously cited a three-week delivery period for the latest Apple smartphone.

Launched to high acclaim in September, the sixth-generation iPhone, or iPhone 5, continues to give Foxconn manufacturing headaches as demand remains high two months later.

Nonetheless, it seems the Asian assembler can breathe a sigh of relief, as Apple’s shipping quota has improved by a whole week for two of the world’s largest customers – US and Canada.

iPhoneinCanada reports the change, confirming that it applies to factory unlocked units too. US customers are still required to buy a two-year contract with any of AT&T, Sprint or Verizon to get their mitts on the elusive iPhone 5.
