iPhone 5 Now Shipping in 2-4 Days Down Under

Australia is the first to break through the 1-week quota

While US customers still have to wait about a week for the new iPhone 5 order to materialize, Australians can get theirs in as little as two days; four days tops, if the shipping takes longer than expected.

Apple has updated the iPhone 5 shipping quota in Australia where customers can now order a factory-unlocked iPhone 5 and have it shipped to their door in 2-4 days.

The handset sells for A$ 799 down under, while Americans pay $649 for the contract-free smartphone. EU customers have to pluck €679 out of their wallets for the elusive handset.

Apple has been steadily improving shipping times for its new smartphone as demand is finally dampening two months into its launch. With Christmas approaching, Santa’s bag will be filled mostly with other iDevices, such as the new iPad mini and the fifth-generation iPod touch.
