A Chinese magazine has released scans of the alleged iPhone 5’s enclosure, complete with measurements that indicate that Apple’s next-generation smartphone will not only be taller, but also thinner.

Chinese-language newspaper Apple Daily has come out with images of the iPhone 5’s metal case and front glass panel which fit together perfectly to make an enclosure measuring 58.47 mm wide, 123.83 mm high and 7.6 mm thin. The current iPhone (4S) measures 9.3mm in depth. 7.6mm translates into an 18% reduction in thickness, or about 0.29 inches.

The people who leaked the hardware corroborated earlier rumors saying the screen measures four inches on the diagonal, and that the headphone jack has been relocated to the bottom of the device. Lastly, the dock connector is smaller, akin to micro USB (again, as rumored).
