The original iPad mini with a standard-resolution display and the A5 chip has seen a minor refresh alongside the iPad mini 2.

Don’t get your hopes up for any boost in processor speed or the amount of memory that comes with the thing. The iPad mini currently sold by Apple is essentially the same tablet device introduced last year, only this time around it comes in a new shade of gray.

Space Gray, to be precise. The new color phases out the Slate finish that was previously available for buyers of the diminutive tablet computer. In fact, Apple is phasing out all Black & Slate devices in favor of the new Space Gray flavor.

While the original iPad mini is available to ship within 24 hours, those looking to grab the iPad mini 2 (with Retina display and A7 chip) still have to wait a while longer.
