“Mini” Apple tablet to employ the same screen aspect ratio as its bigger siblings

Electronic parts seller ETrade Supply has released images of a display assembly whose features are consistent with rumors regarding the new iPad mini slated for unveiling in San Jose next week.

The LCD screen is said to be of a 4:3 aspect ratio, not the rumored 16:9 we’ve been hearing about in the press for a while.

It measures 162 mm x 124 mm and the markings on the various components that make up the assembly seem to confirm that it’s a genuine Apple part manufactured by LG Display.

The company also has some images depicting the tablet’s battery, while French site Nowhereelse.fr seems to corroborate their story with their own set of images.

At this point, the iPad mini is all but confirmed, but we’re still waiting to Tim Cook and his troops to make the official unveiling next week.

Not that we don’t trust such solid-looking leaks, but nothing compares to an Apple product launch where there’s always that one-more-thing that we didn’t notice in the photos.
