Apple is sending notices to developers whose apps are pending approval, informing them that the review process is taking longer than usual.

An apologetic Apple tells developers whose apps are yet to be approved, “We are currently reviewing an app that you submitted for inclusion on the App Store, and want to let you know that the review process will require additional time.”

“We apologize for the delay and will provide you with an update on the status of your app as soon as possible,” the company adds, according to one developer quoted by ReadWrite.

The delay is undoubtedly caused by the Dev Center outage reported last week. Some developer services are still offline as of this writing, including Xcode Automatic Configuration, Member Center, Program Enrollment, and Technical Support.

It is worth noting that, while some developers are seeing their apps/updates delayed, others have had no problem getting a new app through Apple’s net.
