Apple has just unveiled iOS 9 at its WWDC 2015 conference a few hours ago, and we have already detailed some of the new features that will arrive embedded with the soft update, including Proactive Siri and multi-tasking for iPads.

So if you were wondering when you would be able to get your hands on the new iOS 9, Apple has announced that a public beta will be released in July, and this is a first for iOS. Apple offered a public beta for OS X 10.10 last year, though.

Most importantly, iOS 9 will support the same devices as iOS 8. So every user on iOS 8 will be able to upgrade to Apple’s next version of the mobile operating system. To be able to try it out, you need to sign up here.

The features included in the new version of the OS will vary depending on the device. For example, multi-tasking will only go out to the iPad.

As iOS 9 supports every iOS 8 device, the following models will be eligible for the upgrade:

- iPhone 4s

- iPhone 5

- iPhone 5s

- iPhone 6

- iPhone 6 Plus

- iPad mini

- iPad 3

- iPad 4

- iPad Air

- iPad Air 2

- iPod touch (5th generation)

A developer beta of the iOS 9 will come out later today.
