The future iOS will be able to pull contact info from Maps and Yelp

iOS 8 will improve on a lot of features from iOS 7. Although the design is the same, there are still features that Apple has not publicized and have not been discovered by the users and developers.

The most recent trick is related to the Contacts app. According to AppleInsider, the latest iOS 8 beta automatically pulls contact info from Maps and populates the Phone's app Recent calls. That only happens when you dial a number from within Maps or Yelp apps. Previously, in iOS 7 the Recent calls in the Phone app would only get the phone number and location.

They exemplify this by calling a pub from New York, USA. After the call is done, when the user returns to the Recent Calls, he is able to see the name of the place. As expected, this helps the iPhone user a lot because he doesn't need to add the phone numbers to his Contacts app.

The Maps app in iOS 8 is said to be greatly improved. Apple has yet to prove their own Maps app as a viable alternative to Google Maps app for iOS. For the moment, the Google's app is the gold standard for traveling and getting directions.

Users of iOS 8 say the new feature may, however, have issues when the information on specific locations is outdated.
