Whether or not you’re a fan of the new flat UI in iOS 7, there’s at least one area of the OS where everyone is bound to feel at home. Photography is taken to new heights in iOS 7 with Filters, a new square format, Moments, and lots more.

The Camera app in iOS 7 has been redesigned to put all your shooting formats (still, video, panorama, and square) in a swipeable tray at the bottom of the UI.

Stills and square photos support filters, so you can say goodbye to Instagram and just pick a filter right in your Camera app to see the effect before the shutter goes off.

You can also take the shot normally and apply the edits afterwards.

Organizing photos is much more… how to put it? Organized. You can now group your memories by Collections, Moments, and Years, which takes care of your photos and videos by keeping track of time and place.

“Tap Years and all your shots fill the screen. Each year holds Collections, like your trip to San Francisco. And in that Collection are distinct Moments — photos from Union Square, videos from AT&T Park. So you can find a shot from whenever, wherever, in no time,” says Apple.
