Apple in iOS 7 is offering full compatibility with third-party controllers, mainly for video games that are played best without covering the screen with your thumbs.

The first game to take advantage of this update is AVP: Evolution, from Fox Digital Entertainment.

Version 1.9 lists enhancements such as iOS7 optimizations, 64-bit iPhone 5S support, and iOS 7 Game Controller Support. Major performance improvements are also included in this update, and difficulty has been rebalanced.

Of course, you’ll want to play this one on a tablet to enjoy the experience that an external controller has to offer.

AVP: Evolution is compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation), iPod touch (5th generation), and iPad, and requires only iOS 4.3 to run.
