Vertical app-switcher tray with touch-and-hold gestures and split previews

YouTube user s3ntry93 has uploaded a concept video showcasing what Apple could do with app switching (multitasking) in iOS 7.

The 23-second animation is a mockup of an experimental app switching mechanism that s3ntry93 has invented. Apple could pay attention to the feedback on this video and decide to buy the guy’s concept outright.

The concept envisions a vertical app-switcher tray where the user slides his / her finger across apps to get a split preview of the current state of all running applications.

It’s not exactly a flawless formula, and at least some users could find it less than intuitive. But it’s highly original and, with a few tweaks here and there, it might just make it into the next-generation iOS 7.
