Apple Dev Center hack could be the cause behind the delay

Apple seems to have broken the two-week seeding cycle for iOS 7 betas because of a widely reported breach of its servers.

While the company seeded the fourth Mavericks beta without fail earlier this morning, iOS 7 Beta 4 was nowhere to be found. Apple generally seeds fresh betas of the two in-development OSes simultaneously. This time around, no iOS version.

The reason is believed to be the recent hack on Apple’s Dev Center, which forced the Cupertino giant to close its developer portal, causing developers and customers alike to miss updates and new releases.

iOS 7 Beta 4 seems to be in the same boat with these delayed software releases, but Apple is mum.

The company has indeed confirmed the hack, and said that it is working around the clock to overhaul its systems and get the Apple Dev Center back online as soon as possible.
