Hacker iH8sn0w says the beta will become unusable on January 13 at 12 AM (GMT)

If you’re planning on installing Apple’s first iOS 7.1 beta (or have done so already), it might help to know when it’s set to become unusable.

iOS betas, unlike OS X betas, have expiry dates. Which means if you don’t make the jump to a newer beta, or a GM, or a final build, you will end up with a bricked handset. Of course, most developers know this, but it’s always a good idea to jot down the expiry date of the beta you’re currently using.

And, according to famed hacker iH8sn0w, iOS 7.1 will expire in just under two months from now.

“Today’s iOS 7.1 beta 1 (11D5099e) released to developers expires on Monday, January 13, 2014 @ 12AM (GMT),” reads a tweet from the hacker.

iH8sn0w is busy coding up some jailbreaks for iOS 6.1.5 and iOS 7 users. He doesn’t say anything about iOS 7.1 having any patches for their existing exploits, so development should continue as planned.
