Hackers run Cydia on the latest iOS powering iPhones and iPads worldwide

Via MuscleNerd (of the iPhone Dev Team) comes word that hackers @mdowd and @kernelpool gave a great talk about iOS 6 security at Hack in the Box 2012, during which they also showcased a jailbreak, complete with Cydia running on the OS.

Following MuscleNerd’s tweet, Digital News Asia released the image above which represents a demo of the iOS 6 jailbreak “via kernel mode exploit through iPwn.”

In other words, Apple’s iOS 6 is now fully jailbroken. However, by looking at the aspect ratio of the image projected at Kuala Lumpur, the hack was achieved on hardware older than the iPhone 5.

Famous hacker Pod2g (leader of Chronic Dev Team) is also on the scene, and he’s more than willing to discuss iOS security with whoever is interested.

We’re expecting fresh jailbreak updates from our favorite hackers as Hack in the Box 2012 draws to a close.
