14 DAY TRIAL // In iOS 6, applications that use the Internet will be able to automatically switch to a cellular connection when Wi-Fi is down, according to a new finding in the latest beta from Apple.
Seeded to developers earlier this week, iOS 6 Beta 4 features an updated Settings menu that includes a toggle for “Wi-Fi Plus Cellular” connections. Apple says this feature permits “apps having trouble with Wi-Fi to use cellular data.”
Furthermore, users can tell iOS which services can use a cellular connection and which not. These services include iCloud Documents, FaceTime, iTunes, and Passbook. Once the setting is enabled, you never have to worry about them again.
Finally, there’s a new “Shared Calendar Alerts” option in Calendar settings, which notifies you about new, modified, or deleted shared events, when enabled.
