Tethered hack achieved with the latest version of redsn0w from the iPhone Dev Team

Jailbreak fans can now hack their Apple devices under iOS 6.0.1 using the latest version of redsn0w from the infamous iPhone Dev Team. The jailbreak is tethered for now and only works on A4 devices and below. Additionally, ultrasn0w fixer is compatible with iOS 6.0.1 for carrier unlocks.

Redmond Pie has been able to confirm that “Redsn0w can be used to jailbreak the just released iOS 6.0.1,” and they’ve set up a guide for anyone interested in performing the hack on their A4 (or lower) device.

A5 devices and above versions are currently out, “so those rocking a new iPad or iPod touch, and iPhone 5 will have to sit tight for a while yet,” the blog confirms.

In related news, “ultrasn0w fixer” is now available for iOS 6.0.1 enabling iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS owners with suitable basebands to perform a carrier unlock under the new firmware, according to appadvice.

The basebands ultrasn0w fixer can unlock are 01.59.00; 04.26.08; 05.11.07; 05.13.01; 05.12.01; and 06.15.00.
