After announcing the promotion of the Google Chrome 44 web browser to the stable channel for Mac OS X, GNU/Linux, Chrome OS, and Microsoft Windows operating systems, Google pushed the Chrome 44 for iOS web browser to the App Store on iTunes for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch mobile devices.

According to Google's announcement published earlier today, July 22, Chrome 44.0.2403.65 for iOS lets users use swipe gestures to navigate backwards and forwards between websites, adds support for accessing Physical Web content directly from the Today view, and contains many bugfixes and stability improvements.

"The Chrome team is beaming to announce the launch of Chrome 44 for iOS. Chrome 44.0.2403.65 is now available in the AppStore," says Andy Caruso. "If you find a new issue, please let us know by filing a bug. More information about Chrome for iOS is available on the Chrome site."

Optimized by Google for iPhone 5, iPhone 6, and iPhone 6 Plus smartphones, Chrome 44 for iOS requires iOS 7.0 or later to function properly, and it is also compatible with the iPad and iPod touch, as well as other iPhone devices. Chrome 44 for iOS is available in the App Store right now.
