14 DAY TRIAL // Twitterrific 5 is now a free download for customers using iPhones, iPads, and iPod touch players. The Iconfactory has decided to put its Twitter client in the hands of as many users as possible, and therefore made this ad-supported version that everyone can download and use for free.
Twitterrific 5.7 makes it a little more difficult for the Ollie Soars Easter Egg to emerge, increases the timeline capacity to 500 tweets, and includes minor speed optimizations. Some bug fixes are mentioned, including one involving erroneous button colors in iOS 7.1.
However, the most important part of the update is the ad-supported nature of the application, which kicks in starting with version 5.7.
The Iconfactory explains: “Twitterrific is now ad supported for new customers. This version offers in-app purchases to unlock additional paid features such as push notifications, the Today View, tweet translation and removal of ads from the timeline. Existing paid customers already have complete access to these features, no further action is required to enjoy them.”
Localized in English only, Twitterrific 5.7 requires iOS 7.0 and works with iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPad second-generation, iPad third-generation, iPad fourth-generation, iPad Air, iPad mini, iPad mini with Retina display, and iPod touch fifth-generation.
