Yahoo has released today, May 7, version 4.0 of their awesome Flickr for iOS app to the App Store on iTunes. The new version brings a number of new features as well as performance improvements.

According to the release notes, Flickr 4.0 now automatically grabs the photos and videos you take and will keep them private until you decide if you want to share them or not.

It is now possible to share your photos to Instagram, and there are some brand new and enhanced filters that will allow you to revamp your photos before sharing them.

"We are constantly working to offer you the best version of Flickr. An easy way to make sure that you have the latest and greatest without manually checking here is to turn on Automatic Downloads," said Yahoo.

In addition to the features mentioned above, Flickr 4.0 introduces a new look that aims to match the one of your Camera Roll, an all-new timeline view with better browsing, sharing, and organization, as well as the ability to edit photos.

Of course, there are also numerous under-the-hood performance improvements in Flickr 4.0, which you can download right now from the App Store app on your iPhone or iPad device.
