Apple has released a new version of Xcode, addressing an issue with the iOS Simulator on OS X 10.8.4 Mountain Lion systems.

Xcode version 4.6.3 “fixes an issue where debugging in the iOS Simulator could hang on OS X 10.8.4.”

Xcode 4.6.3 doesn’t include support for the new iOS 7 Developer Preview, but Xcode 5 does. As a registered Apple Developer you can download the latest Xcode from the company’s Dev Center, free of charge.

Those who don’t have Apple Developer credentials, but only an Apple ID for use in the iTunes Store, can go ahead and download the free Xcode 4.6.3 at the link below.

This Xcode includes SDKs for OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion and iOS 6.1, more accurate code completion heuristics, new compiler warnings, C++11 support for “user defined literals” and “unrestricted unions” features, deeper cross-function static analysis of Objective-C and C++ code, and more.
