The web apps' time is over, sites become native apps now

There was a time when Apple used to encourage websites to create their own webapps – apps running in the browser. The company even had a special section on their website promoting such webapps. Times have changed and more websites are now creating their own native iOS apps, complete with the iOS look and feel.

The newest apps come from the social backing site Indiegogo and the huge elephant in the room, Wikipedia.

With Indiegogo (this is Kickstarter's biggest rival) you can discover and fund products and causes you love. If gadgets are your thing, the next generation is just a tap away. If you want to see your favorite indie movie or just help create the next fashion brand for amateur designers, you can have them all in this app.

The Indiegogo app helps you discover recommended campaigns, follow the ones you have already backed, and share your favorites with your online friends.

Wikipedia results will be included in iOS 8 Siri answers even more often than now, so a native app is a must-have. The Wikipedia App has been relaunched in the AppStore with some long-awaited features. First of all, the design is suited for iOS 8.

You can now edit Wikipedia entries or read some of the new stuff posted online. This free encyclopedia has over 32 million articles in 280 languages and has become the go-to website for every student.
