Ask.com recently decided to do what it does best – ask around – and see how the Apple customer base perceives the impending iPhone upgrade on September 10.

Collected over a three-day span from more than 4,000 poll participants, the answers aren’t all that surprising, but they make a good point of reference nonetheless.

For instance, rumors that Apple will launch two versions of the iPhone this year prompted 60 percent of the participants to report “they'd buy a cheaper (and less feature-rich) version of the new device.”

However, if the iPhone 5S comes out first, 46 percent of Ask users with iPhones said, “they will snap up the new device as soon as it's available,” according to the online brand for questions and answers.

Asked what features they’d like to see improved, respondents began with battery life (44 percent), followed by “Thumbprint unlock” (with 34 percent of users wanting this feature on top of any other enhancement), while “New colors” and “better Siri,” came in last with 12 percent and 10 percent, respectively.
