It’s really a non-problem, there’s a universal charger that Apple sells for $19/€19

If you’re rocking several different iDevices and have lost track of your chargers and cables, there’s one particular model that works perfectly with all iPhone, iPad, and iPod models. And chances are you already own it.

Shipped with the fourth-generation iPad, the Apple 12W USB Power Adapter sells for $19/€19 over at Apple’s online store or the company’s brick and mortar stores. It’s relatively cheap, considering it’s the only charger you’ll ever need for an entire collection of iDevices, ranging from some early iPods to the latest iPads.

It supplies just the right amount of voltage and wattage to any iPhone from the 2007 original to the newest 5s models and works with the entire range of iPad tablets. While an iPhone charger will suffice, the 12W adapter charges your tablet much faster. iPod-wise, even the click-wheel models are supported.

Since it’s supposed to charge iDevices older than the Lightning connector standard, you can use it on older gear by simply swapping cables. Best of all, it’s an Apple-authorized piece of equipment, meaning there’s very little danger of something going wrong. And in case something does go wrong, Apple at least compensates customers, unlike knockoff sellers.
