14 DAY TRIAL // Elgato and Dyle have released EyeTV Mobile, a TV tuner for iOS devices that turns iPads, iPod touch players and iPhones into portable TV’s. The dongle connects directly via the dock connector of the iDevice to bring live TV on the go.
The ATSC-Mobile tuner receives TV signals from a small antenna, or a rod antenna. The latter provides broader range. And the free EyeTV Mobile app provides pause/ resume capabilities, access to detailed program guide (EPG) information, and even the ability to record your favorite shows directly on the iPad and iPhone.
The updated app is now optimized for iOS 6 and lets you enjoy full screen 16:9 TV on your iPhone 5. You’ll also need a Lightning adapter for that. Apple sells those separately for $29 / €29. EyeTV Mobile requires iOS 5.1 or later.
