Viber, one of Skype’s arch rivals, has been promoted to version 3.1.0.887 on Macintosh computers today, adding full support for group messaging and other cool stuff.

In addition to the aforementioned new feature, Viber on the Mac now offers stickers and emoticons (what’s a communications app without them, right?), and a much-needed “is typing” feature which you can guess for yourself what it does.

In case you didn’t guess yet, it shows you when the person you’re talking to is actually typing. You know, so you can tell when they’re intimidated or unsure of themselves.

A redesigned conversations list is also included along with improved pop-up notifications, and full support for contacts with multiple Viber numbers. That’s it!

Viber is an Intel-only app on the Mac and it requires OS X 10.7 aka Lion. Grab it at the link below.
