Valve has released its popular first-person shooter Half-Life on Mac OS X via Steam. While the launch has yet to be made official, gamers worldwide can confirm that the shooter is now supported on Macs.
A Sci-Fi first-person shooter developed by Valve Corporation, Half-Life has been named Game of the Year by over 50 publications after its 1998 debut. Don’t let the age of the game take the edge off – it’s just as cool a shooter today as it was then.
The game’s value has even more heft considering it’s actually Valve's debut title which, at the time of its launch, blended action and adventure with cool gaming technology like no other video game.
The original Half-Life features a multiplayer which lets you play against gamers around the world. Yes, people still play the thing.
Check it out right here on Steam (where you can also translate those Windows requirements to your Mac's). It’ll set you back $9.99/€7.99 – a bargain for any nostalgic FPS gamer.
Take note that Steam is still marketing the game as Windows-only. However, people who’ve downloaded the title on Macs can confirm that Valve is serving an OS X version as well.
