VLC Player for iOS has received two updates in less than 24 hours, after the discovery of a serious audio decoding regression bug. While they were at it, VideoLAN devs also updated some of the translations in the latest build.

VLC for iOS 2.2.2 is now available for download in the iTunes App Store for iPhone and iPad. According to the release notes, the new version addresses “an important audio decoding regression,” a fix which apparently couldn’t be postponed.

In the same release, VideoLAN has included updated translations for Arabic, Chinese (Hans), Dutch, Galician, Hungarian, and Portuguese. These are just the latest updated translations, but VLC for iOS supports over a dozen different languages.

To download VLC for iOS 2.2.2 you’ll need iOS 6.1 and a compatible iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad. Just like with the desktop version, VLC for iOS is free to download and use indefinitely with no in-app purchases.
