iPhones generally take great pictures, but there’s only so much that built-in LED Flash can do. If you want better lighting conditions, try out External Flash, a free app that triggers the LED Flash of other iPhones around for a bigger burst of light.

Developed by Nicolas Vignolo, External Flash lets you use the flash from your friends’ devices to take better pictures in low light situations. The app has two main functions: Take Picture and Share Flash.

“Download it now and start taking photographs at parties, gatherings and places where you could not get really good results before,” says Nick.

Well, you heard the man. If you’re going to a partyany time soon, better get prepared. It works on all iPhones and iPod touches that can run iOS 6 and, according to the specs sheet, even iPads are compatible.
