14 DAY TRIAL // Twitter Inc. has released a new version of its iOS client for iPhone and iPad customers with the new ability to install and launch apps from Tweets.
Twitter 5.5 “now helps you discover, install and launch your favorite apps from Tweets,” says Twitter Inc. without providing any other specifics.
The update also includes other improvements, such as faster launch times and general performance upgrades, a tappable “Retweeted by” in Tweet detail, a fix for reply-to-self in conversations, and a fix for bug that prevented undoing retweets in some cases.
Twitter is compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation), iPod touch (5th generation) and iPad and requires iOS 5.0 or later. The app is optimized for iPhone 5.
