With Apple preparing to deploy Mavericks any minute now, the code-savvy bunch at Binary Age have released a maintenance update for users of the popular TotalFinder, addressing some compatibility issues with the upcoming OS.

A Finder supercharger which aids developers and power users in general, TotalFinder enables tabbed browsing, a dual-mode for viewing windows side by side, better file management options, a visor, cut & paste, and more.

This is a paid app and, while Mavericks will definitely steal some of its spotlight (mainly with its Finder Tags & Tabs updates), TotalFinder is poised to remain a must-have utility still.

Version 1.5.2 is out today for Mountain Lion users (and pretty much everyone waiting on the edge of their seats to make the jump to Mavericks), with some compatibility fixes.

Binary Age says, “please update to this version prior installing Mavericks. We added checks for preventing running corrupted TotalFinder installations.”
