Fake leak making the rounds showing off an alleged new iPhone CPU

A fake iPhone leak is circulating on the web. Although we were handed the very same photos days ago, we’ve been reluctant to post even a rumor story, as the images were obviously doctored.

DroidGator has been dishing out a fake rumor that the iPhone 5S logic board had been leaked (pictured above), and while the images may seem tantalizing at first, even a non-trained eye will notice some poor Photoshop skills on that A7 chip rendition. In short, it's a fake.

Besides the fake serial numbers (which are basically made up), the apple logo along with the A7 identifier were obviously pasted over another image of a (potentially) real Apple chip.

The blog may or may not be looking for some gratis page views but, for what it’s worth, the author admits “we were very suspicious when this picture was received by our team.”

However, when you take it upon yourself to report on such leaks, doing a little homework is mandatory.
