New physical mockups emerge based on leaked schematics

A new set of mockups has been released showing the iPhone 6 design in Space Gray, featuring the same hardware changes as seen before. With each leak we’re getting closer to the real thing, it seems.

It goes without saying that all the physical mockups leaked in the past few weeks are virtually identical, varying in quality at most. The latest such leak shows what the elusive iPhone 6 will look like in Space Gray, one of the iconic color choices for Apple’s iDevices.

While the iPhone 5c does sell in a plurality of vibrant colors, we don’t expect the metal-encased iPhone 6 to boast more than three color options, basically the ones that are currently available for the iPhone 5s (Silver, Gold, and Space Gray).

The iPhone 6 will reportedly sport a 4.7-inch display, elongated volume buttons, a relocated Sleep/Wake button, and a protuberant camera module featuring a metal ring around the lens, much like the fifth-generation iPod touch.

At this point the mockups that are being dished around are useless, as the end-design seems pretty much confirmed. All they’re missing is the Apple logo branded on the back of the hardware. Apple could unveil the handset as early as next month, at its Worldwide Developers Conference in San Francisco.
