You can also listen to the songs in full length, says Fotios Botosakis

A free iPhone app called Klingelring Ringtone Converter is said to convert any songs into original ringtone files, “whether they are on your iDevice or iTunes Match.”

The free app basically takes an existing song file (which apparently you need to own), identifies the exciting parts in that song, and automatically creates a ringtone for your iPhone based on what a ringtone should sound like.

The description up on iTunes is certainly tantalizing, especially the part about the company’s social network where you can swap ringtones with others (making it somewhat dubious that no one will mind).

“You can also listen to the songs even in full length on the stream of our partners,” says Fotios Botosakis, the developer.

Here’s to hoping Klingelring doesn’t get pulled. Not that it sounds fishy or anything, but I’ve seen far more innocent apps feel the wrath of Apple.

Oh, and there’s an in-app purchase in there for $2.99 / €2.69 for the Pro version, so don’t expect to get all the advertised functionality from the free app.
