Not the scientific footage we were hoping to see

A video on YouTube called “iPhone 6 Plus Extreme Bend Test” caught our eye today, as the preview appeared to indicate a scientific test that proves whether or not the iPhone 6 Plus indeed has a design flaw.

It’s still debatable as to whether the larger iPhone 6 is prone to bending more than any other phablet out there, and the people at oneofthenine.com sure seem to be rooting for the latter hypothesis.

That being said, we’re the proud possessors of several iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus units, and we can confirm that these things don’t bend as easily as some people will have you believe.

One guy, however, decided to literally “stress” that in the most brutal manner possible: hammering down an iPhone 6 after being cracked under the immense pressure of a steel vice. Because the OS is visibly struggling to understand what’s going on, at times trembling as if afraid, I picked up a near-sadistic vibe from this video. I’m sure others will feel the phone’s suffering as well.

I’d also like to note that I find this video useless, despite its author’s attempt to throw sarcasm at #bendgate. There are more elegant ways to make this point, in my opinion. Hit the play button and enjoy (if you have the stomach for it).
