IK Multimedia has announced the iRig BlueBoard, the first wireless MIDI pedalboard for iPhone, iPad and Mac that allows musicians to control their music apps from the floor.

iRig BlueBoard lets you control the parameters of your MIDI-compatible apps. You can switch between presets, change patches, turn effects on and off, and control the volume of your wah pedals.

The solution features four backlit soft-touch pads, two TRS expansion jacks for connecting additional MIDI controllers (i.e. expression pedals), and gets juice from just four standard AAA batteries.

A guitarist using a mobile multiFX app like AmpliTube as a sound processor can use iRig BlueBoard to get the foot-controlled functionality and convenience of a pedalboard in a much more compact form factor, according to IK Multimedia. It’s also highly portable.

iRig BlueBoard will be available for $99.99 in a few months.
