Imangi Studios has released a press statement to confirm that its Temple Run 2 game has been downloaded over 20 million times in just four days of availability on the Apple App Store.

The game – a sequel to the original and already popular Temple Run – reportedly became the App Store’s #1 Free App just eight hours after debut. Temple Run 2 is currently the #3 Top Grossing App.

Keith Shepherd, co-founder of Imangi, says, “The response from fans has been overwhelming. We are thrilled players want more of the Temple Run universe, and we hope to grow and expand the game over the coming months.”

To be noted that Temple Run 2, unlike its predecessor, is solely available for iOS at the moment. Imangi plans to release an Android version at a later date.

Temple Run 2 boasts highly improved graphics, new obstacles and abilities, player powers, and achievements. The game takes place in a world that players say is a lot more challenging. My girlfriend agrees.

You can download Temple Run 2 yourself for free on any iDevice that supports iOS 4.2 and newer versions (link below). The game is a universal binary good for any screen size.
