Visionary genius Steve Jobs was known for his stubbornness and mercurial temper, but you’d think he’d have eased off a bit when his battle with cancer became a priority.

Apparently, no. In fact, Jobs remained obsessed with design and aesthetics even on his hospital bed.

An excerpt from the biography written by Walter Isaacson reveals that he was so dissatisfied with the monitoring equipment and breathing mask that he refused to use them. He even ordered staff to bring different gear so he could choose something better suited for him.

“Jobs ripped it off and mumbled that he hated the design and refused to wear it. Though barely able to speak, he ordered them to bring five different options for the mask and he would pick a design he liked. . . . He also hated the oxygen monitor they put on his finger. He told them it was ugly and too complex.”
